Prayagraj: The traditional
Holi of Thatheri Bazaar in the city was played with full zest on Thursday, the third day of the festival. Be it traders, shopkeepers or employees of government or private firms, everybody came out on streets with a predominance of colours and exchanged Holi greetings.
Traders and people living in this lane of Thatheri Bazaar have a tradition of celebrating Holi on the third day every year. Though the festival is celebrated for two days in the city, this is the only locality in Chowk area where Holi is played on the third day. People of all age groups were seen splashing colours on each other and dancing to the beats of Holi songs.
People from other areas also joined residents of Thatheri Bazaar, famous for metal utensils, to witness the traditional flavour of Holi. “Our Holi is famous across the city and nobody wants to miss it as festivities on the third day of Holi make it more unique,” said Sunil, a resident of Thatheri Bazar.
After playing Holi, people relished sweets, namkins and traditional khoya delicacies as well as thandai.
