Newly married man, friend killed as car rams into truck

Ludhiana: Two persons — including a newly married man — were killed, while five of his friends and relatives suffered serious injuries after their car rammed into a stationary truck near Jalandhar Byepass. The deceased were identified as Rahul (26) of Jassiyan, and his friend Raju of Himachal Pradesh, while the injured included Anish Jain (35) of Gyaspura, Naveen Garg (30), Ajay, and Chintu.
Police officials said Rahul had got married on Wednesday, and in the evening he had hosted a party for his friends. They added that after partying, all the friends were going towards Ladhowal in the Maruti Esteem vehicle of Anish, when their vehicle hit a stationary truck on the road.
