Queensland man killed while mowing near road

A man has been hit and killed by semitrailer while mowing at the edge of a road in north Queensland.

The 60-year-old was mowing the edge of the Gregory Development Road with a tractor near Charters Towers when he was struck on Friday morning.

The truck driver was not injured and the victim died at the scene.
