Three more from Pune test positive for Covid-19

PUNE: The three Pimpri Chinchwad residents - two of them aged 36 and the third 37 - have been quarantined at YCM Hospital. "Since they have tested positive, they will be shifted to Naidu hospital which is the designated isolation facility. They have minor flu-like symptoms. Their condition is stable," a civic health official said.

A state health official said that after the Sinhagad Road couple and their daughter tested positive, a close watch was kept on the remaining travellers who had gone on the Dubai trip. "We tracked the remaining travellers and their close contacts and isolated those showing symptoms of mild illness. Three of the travellers are from Belgavi, while the rest are from Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Thane, Ahmednagar, Beed, Nagpur, Raigad and Yavatmal. As many as 35 people have been isolated in Pune (18), Mumbai (15) and Nagpur (2) on Tuesday and Wednesday," the official said.

The throat swab samples of all suspected cases are being tested at the National Institute of Virology (NIV) here. "We have advised two-week home isolation for these cases. Health officials in their districts will follow up on them. Those who develop any symptoms will be isolated at the designated hospital in their districts and tested for the contagion at NIV," he added.
Most schools wait & watch
Majority of the schools in the city decided to wait and watch the situation, after three institutions on Sinhagad Road declared holiday till the weekend.
In CBSE and ICSE schools, the exams are going on. The state board schools will have exams in April first week.
Schools continued to send out messages to parents about keeping children at home if they were unwell. Other instructions regarding precautionary measures were also issued.
Bharati Vidyapeeth Rabindranath Tagore School of Excellence declared holiday till the weekend.
