March 18: "50 Years of Reproductive Justice" with Faye Wattleton

CWGS 50th Anniversary dinner and speaking program with Faye Wattleton.

March 19: "If Religions Call for Peace - Why do they Practice War?"

Dr. Reuven Firstone is the Regenstein Professor in medieval Judaism and Islam at Hebrew Union College, Los Angeles and affiliate professor of religion at the University of Southern California. Professor Firestone lectures at universities in Europe, Asia and the Middle East as well as throughout North America.

March 19: Dr. Jorge Tolentino

Lecture by Dr. Jorge Tolentino: “U.S. Cabo Verde Relations: The Construction of a Historic and Strategic Partnership.” Hosted by the Cape Verdean Student Association in collaboration with the Pedro Pires Institute for Cape Verdean Studies at Bridgewater State University. March 20: "Fashion for a Cause 2020" 

A night of exquisite food, cash bar, lavish fashion from designers featured in StyleWeek's "The New You" show. March 25: Byllye Avery

Byllye Avery, the founder of the National Black Women's Health Project, the first national organization to specialize in black women's reproductive health issues. She has worked to develop healthcare services and education that address black women's mental and physical health stressors. Woodland Commons 2 - 4 p.m.

March 28: Spring 2020 public observatory open houses

The UMass Dartmouth Observatory opens to the public on a monthly basis during the university's fall and spring semesters. Visitors can view the night sky through the observatory's 16-inch telescope and other telescopes operated by community members of the Astronomical Society of Southern New England. Admission is free. Children are welcome to attend, if accompanied by an adult. Starting at 8 p.m. Cancellations: Open houses take place only if the weather permits (that is, clear skies). March 29:  Claire T. Carney Library Associates "14th annual Authors Brunch"

Featured authors are Barbara Delinsky, Jacquelyn Mitchard and Steven Manchester. The event will take place at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, 151 Martine St., Fall River. Reservation deadline is March 25. Brunch is $45 per person and a 10% discount on reserved table of eight.
