TRICHY: The
Trichy Corporation on Thursday tabled a Rs 42.65lakh
surplus budget for the financial year 2020-2021.
The revenue of the corporation is estimated to be Rs 1,335.47 crore while the expenditure is estimated to be Rs 1,335.04 crore.
Proposals such as growing Miyawaki forest in all four zones, micro compost centres at 17 spots for decentralised waste management and launch of four model schools have been mooted in the
budget under general announcements.
As many as 20 smart city proposals, including
Cauvery riverfront development, smart roads in area-based development (ABD) localities, Sir C V Raman science park in Panjakkarai at an estimated cost of Rs 14 crore and smart toilets were proposed in the budget using
smart cities mission fund.
While the revenue in the budget 2019-20 was estimated at Rs 767.94 crore, the revenue estimation has surged by 75% to Rs 1,335.47 crore in the 2020-21 budget.
