GURUGRAM: A 20-year-old
Sohna resident has been booked for allegedly raping his own sister, who is a minor, several times over the past year. One of his friends, who also tried to
rape her with his help, has been booked as well.
The crime came to light when she managed to escape the friend’s house and sought help from passersby.
In her complaint, the 15-year-old said she lives with her family in Sohna and was being sexually assaulted by her brother in her own home for over a year. She alleged that when she shared her ordeal with her mother, the latter told her to keep mum, which further encouraged her brother.
“Wanting an escape, I went to my aunt’s place without informing anyone on March 5. But my parents tracked me down and bring me back home on March 8 (Sunday). On the same day, my brother’s friend, who lives in Badkhali area
Nuh, took me to his home. To my surprise, my mother and brother were already present there. He also tried to rape me,” she told police.
The next day, she managed to escape the house and asked passersby for help. A woman commuter came to her aid and took her to a police station.
“The teenager was running on the road in Nuh when a commuter helped her and informed police. She was taken to a police station, where she recorded her statement,” a police officer said.
A zero FIR was then registered at the Women’s police station of Nuh.
The case was transferred to Sohna city police station the same day.
ASI Rajbala from Sohna city police station said a case has been registered against the brother and his friend under sections 4 (punishment for penetrative sexual assault) and 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Pocso Act.
“The matter is under investigation. The accused men have been absconding since the case was filed. We’re looking for them. They will be arrested soon,” the ASI said.
