PATNA: As predicted by weathermen, skies turned cloudy in Patna and many other places in Bihar from Tuesday, though no
rainfall was reported from anywhere in the state.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has, however, predicted showers on Friday and wet weather over the weekend as well.
The IMD has predicted fairly widespread rainfall in Bihar on Friday and scattered intensity of showers on Saturday and Sunday.
The Patna Meteorological Centre on Wednesday also stated that rainfall with thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places on March 12 and 15 and at a few places on March 13 and 14.
A yellow-coloured warning for thunderstorm with
lightning and gusty wind (30-40) kmph at few places was also issued for south-west and south-east Bihar for Thursday. Similar warning has been issued for all 38 districts in the state on Friday and Saturday. A yellow-coloured warning alerts the authority to be watchful for extreme weather conditions.
Private weather agency Skymetweather also reported that east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand may see rain on March 15. There are chances of hailstorm activities and lightning strikes as well.
Meteorologists attributed the showers to an east-west trough running from induced cyclonic circulation to north Chhattisgarh across east Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh.
The prevailing weather is also expected to drop day temperature. Patna Meteorological Centre has predicted maximum temperature to come down from the prevailing 29-30 degrees C to 27-28 on Friday and Saturday. Minimum temperature is expected to be in the range of 17-18 degrees C till Sunday.
