Vadodara: A cable operator living in Ghadiyali Pol who repeatedly failed to appear in court during trial of a criminal case filed against him by a cable television distributor was finally arrested by the police.
A judicial magistrate’s court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Alpesh Shah as he was not appearing for trial. According to the complainant, the accused is one of the operators for distribution of cable television. When the distributor filed a criminal case against him in the court, Shah reached a settlement by assuring him of paying up the dues. However, even after giving assurances, Shah did not pay the amount and also did not appear in court for the trials. The court first issued summons to him and then a bailable warrant. However, when he still did not appear, a non-bailable warrant was issued by the court. Police went several times to his home to serve the warrant, but could not find him at home. Last week when the cops once went to his house, they found him and arrested him. The court will hear the case on March 12. tnn
