LUCKNOW: With Covid-19 expanding its footprint in India and eight cases being reported from Uttar Pradesh, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said the government has constituted an isolation ward in every district.
Addressing a gathering at Aarogya Mela in Kushinagar, Yogi asked people to follow prevention steps instead of getting scared of coronavirus. This was the sixth Aarogya Mela after it was initiated by the CM in February.
Greeting people on International Women’s Day, he said that the Aarogya Mela was a tribute to ‘Matra Shakti’ and the commitment to strengthen women power. Yogi said, “A society cannot progress if it is divided in terms of caste, gender, community and religion. A collective effort can become the basis of social strength.”
Yogi said the primary health centres (PHCs), which have been drawing criticism due to absence of doctors, are now catering to the people through Aarogya Mela every Sunday. In these mela organised in every PHCs, patients suffering from serious ailments like TB and Leprosy are being provided medicines. At the same time, the state government is using the occasion to distribute golden card under PM Ayushman and Mukhya Mantri Jan Aarogya schemes.
