HISAR: BJP president
J P Nadda addressed a rally in Kharian village under Rania assembly constituency of Sirsa district on Sunday where he recounted the contribution of peasant leader Chaudhary Chhotu Ram in helping farmers.
He, however, overlooked the role of former deputy PM Devi Lal, whose son Rania MLA and
Haryana minister Ranjit Singh Chautala had organised the rally. Devi Lal had remained the chief minister of Haryana twice.
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, agriculture minister J P Dalal, BJP state chief Subhash Barala, Sirsa MP Sunita Duggal and Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia also addressed the rally. The CM also inaugurated three projects and laid the foundation stone of four other works.
Nadda said Sir Chhotu Ram had a special contribution to peasant struggle. He also mentioned about the improvement in sex ratio of Haryana from 830 women per 1,000 men to 923 women per 1,000 men. Khattar said he did not discriminate against any region in terms of development. "Last time, someone else had the key of finance and I did not know what was coming and what was going. This time, I have kept this key with me, so there will be complete control of the money to be spent on development," he said.
He said there were problems of traffic and roads in the state, which had been resolved to a large extent during the last tenure of BJP. Khattar said the Haryana government had come up with a plan to allow agents and farmers set up their own mandi. He said clean drinking water would reach every household across India by 2024, but in Haryana it would be implemented by 2022.
