Rajkot land 'broker' hired paid killers for Dhrol murder

RAJKOT: Investigating into the sensational daylight assassination of Divyarajsinh Jadeja in Dhrol of Jamnagar district on Friday, police found out that two contract killers in Rajasthan had been hired for the purpose by one Omdevsinh Jadeja, a land broker from Rajkot.
According to the police, accused Jadeja had a long pending dispute over sharing of money in a land deal in Rajkot with deceased Divyarajsinh (28), who was a member of a sand mafia.
Divyarajsinh was gunned down by assailants who fired seven rounds at him at Trikonbaug in Dhrol. Two bullets hit Divyarajsinh in the chest. He was first rushed to Dhrol Civil Hospital and then to GG Hospital in Jamnagar, where he died shortly after admission.
Within hours of the incident cops arrested two accused, Anirudhsinh Sodha (30) and Mustaq Pathan (28), from in Sanalagam locality of Morbi city.
Another accused, identified as Ajit Thakur, who had allegedly supplied firearms to the accused, was also nabbed from Haryana on Saturday.
During interrogation, Sodha and Pathan revealed that Jadeja had given 'supari' to two Rajasthan-based sharp shooters, identified as Sonu and Bablu.
"Sodha had also entered into the monetary dispute with Divyarajsinh after he refused demand to levy less toll tax on his trucks laden with illegally excavated sand. Omdevsinh then took Sodha's help to bump off Divyarajsinh. Sodha contacted Thakur in Haryana for supply of firearms that had been used in the crime," said Sandeep Singh, Rajkot range DIG, while addressing a press conference in Rajkot on Saturday.
"After we found Thakur's involvement in the crime, we alerted Haryana police which arrested Thakur. A team of Jamnagar police officials has been dispatched to Haryana to secure custody of Thakur," Singh added.
Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt for main accused Omdevsinh, the person who had carried out recce; Narendrasinh Jadeja, besides the sharp shooter duo from Rajasthan, Bablu and Sonu.
