Haryana: Bank official shot at during robbery attempt in Ambala

AMBALA: An official of Utkarsh Small Finance Bank was allegedly shot at by three miscreants near Adhoi village in Ambala district on Saturday.
Nishant of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh (UP) presently residing in Barara town of Ambala is posted as a postal credit officer who collects money from his bank customers. He was commuting on his two-wheeler on Saturday when three miscreants in a robbery attempt shot at him near Adhoi village in Ambala and fled away with his bag which was empty.
"A bullet pierced through Nishant’s thigh and another hit him a little above. Presently, he is undergoing treatment at MMU Hospital in Mullana. He alleged that three miscreants shot at him who then fled away with his bag thinking that he might by carrying cash but the bag was empty. Nishant is out of danger”, informed inspector Hamir Singh, Barara police station house officer (SHO).
"A case against three miscreants under Section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and 25-54-59 (punishment for certain offences and renewal of licenses) of the Arms Act has been registered and further investigation is being done”, added SHO Hamir.
"We have some positive leads in this case and the CCTV cameras of the area are being checked", said the SHO.
