This Indian State Has a Gold Chrome Rolls-Royce Phantom Taxi

If you’re planning a visit to the Indian state of Kerala, there is one particular taxi that puts all others to shame.

What you’re looking at is a Rolls-Royce Phantom that recently landed in India and has been adorned with a gold chrome wrap. While it’s not entirely unusual to see Phantoms in certain wealthy areas of India, it’s certainly not every day that you see one with a gold wrap and used as a taxi.

Sputnik News reports the car is owned by local millionaire Bobby Chemmanur and will be used to transfer wealthy tourists visiting Kerala state to his resorts. Tourists wanting to be transported around in the Phantom will be pleased to know that getting a ride in the Phantom won’t break the bank.

According to Gulf News, Chemmanur revealed in a WhatsApp video that tourists will be able to enjoy the Rolls-Royce taxi for three days and get two nights’ accommodation for the equivalent of around $345.

As you probably noticed, this isn’t a VIII-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom and instead a seventh-generation model. Chemmanur says he purchased the car for a discounted price at an auction. He admits that he may not make any money from turning the luxury sedan into a taxi but wanted to do it because it’s a unique idea.
