Name & shame hoardings: Allahabad high court takes suo motu cognizance

PRAYAGRAJ: The Allahabad HC on Saturday took suo motu cognizance of large hoardings, put up by Lucknow district administration, containing names, photos and addresses of 57 people accused of destroying public and private properties during violence triggered by the anti-CAA protest on December 19.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Govind Mathur will hear this case on Sunday, March 8.
The court has asked Lucknow commissioner and DM to inform under which law these hoardings were put up. The district administration put up these hoardings on Thursday night. The hoardings contained the names, addresses and pictures of 57 people who had earlier been served Rs 1.55 crore recovery notices in three bunches.
