BHUBANESWAR: The state
government on Saturday announced to restrict foreign travel by ministers and officers in view of threat of
coronavirus spread till the situation normalises.

Asit Tripthay will review the situation daily at the state level and the respective district collectors will review at the district level.

The CM-chaired meeting decided that the health department has been asked to ensure buffer stocks of essential drugs and surgical equipment to meet requirement of at least nine months. The health department shall make emergency procurement of enough quantities of N95 masks and personal protective equipment (PPEs) for health care personnel. The government also asked private hospitals to set up isolation facilities.
Coronavirus outbreak: Dos and Don'tsThe government asked the revenue and disaster management department and home departments to assist health officials in tracing suspected cases and enforce home isolation whenever the need arises.
Sources said the government will rope in self-help groups and panchayat representatives to create awareness on proper hygiene and hand washing at the village and anganwadi level. Seats, handles and bars of all public transport vehicles will be sanitized every day. The government will provide masks free of cost to bus commuters who cough and sneeze frequently.
Schools have been asked to disinfect floors, tables, desks, door handles and bars every day and ensure sick children stay at home. The government will publicise hand washing on a mission mode.
