BENGALURU: A girl stabbed her fiance in
Bettadapura town after their families refused to postpone the
wedding fixed for March 13. The girl, a BSc student from Periyapatna taluk, told cops she wanted to postpone the wedding to pursue higher education, but the families refused despite multiple requests.
On Sunday evening, a 31-year-old man from Periyapatna was found stabbed near the agriculture office in Bettadapura town. He was admitted to hospital. The next day, his uncle lodged a
police complaint. When police quizzed the injured man, he revealed that the girl had stabbed him after asking him to meet her.
"She wants to continue studies and has sought our help. We have asked an NGO to
help her study further," said police. The girl was arrested.
