The Rajasthan Municipalities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 has been passed in the state assembly on Wednesday. This bill has been introduced in the Assembly by the Minister of Autonomous Governance, Shanti Kumar Dhariwal.
The Minister of Autonomous Governance, Shanti Kumar Dhariwal, after discussing the amendment bill, has clarified the objectives and reasons for bringing it. Giving information, the Minister of Autonomous Governance said that three sections of the Rajasthan Municipality (Amendment) Bill, 2009 have been amended.
In section 23, the fine has been increased from two to five thousand rupees for violation of restrictions on the use of sound amplifiers, etc. Shanti Dhariwal said that under Section 28, it has been made a punishable offense to give false information or hide any information in nomination or affidavit, etc. on behalf of a candidate or his proposer.
Dhariwal said that in Section 31, it has been clarified to file an election petition against the election of a member. An election petition against a member can be filed on behalf of a candidate or elector.
