A reckless motorcyclist who was caught on dashcam zooming in and out of traffic was lucky to escape with his life after slamming his bike into a stationary car.

The harrowing vision, which has recently surfaced online, shows the rider zooming between lanes on Narrows Bridge in Perth two years ago.

The motorcyclist can be seen speeding up behind a set of cars stuck in traffic before driving to the right side of the car that was recording as the scene unfolds.

The rider then suddenly disappears from view after colliding with a car that was changing lanes.

He bounces off of the car and crashes onto the bitumen.

The motorcyclist is seen laying on the ground and clutching his leg in extreme pain, surrounded by pieces of his mangled motorbike.

He was left with cuts and scrapes, but managed to escape without more serious injuries.

Social media users were perplexed at the dangerous manner the motorbike rider was driving.

'If you're riding like that it's not "if" it's going to happen it's "when",' one person said.

Another person, who said they typically defended motorcyclists' actions, said they couldn't justify his driving.

'He was going to get cleaned up eventually riding like that. Always ride as if other motorists cannot see you,' the person said.

Another said: 'If you're riding a motorcycle, you're always going to come off 2nd best if at fault or not..... best be more careful.'

Several others criticised the speed in which the motorcyclist was travelling across the bridge.
