The sickening final moments of a pub-goer being chased down a street by his two killers before they attacked him and left for dead by the roadside have been shown to a court.

Jayden Mason, 21, died after being knocked unconscious by two men on June 24, 2017 near Wyong Leagues Club in Lake Haven on NSW's Central Coast and then struck by a car as he lay in the bicycle lane.

The footage shown in court on Thursday showed Mr Mason desperately trying to run away from Benjamin O'Brien and Ryan Paterson just before 10.30pm as they chased him throwing punches.

The altercation ensued after Mr Mason was kicked out of the leagues club, and an agreed statement of facts states he began 'cursing up the road' at O'Brien and Paterson.

The pair then crossed the road towards him and tried to attack him as the 21-year-old tried in vain to flag down cars, The Central Coast Advocate reported.

O'Brien punched Mr Mason to the ground before Paterson kicked his victim as he lay on the road, and then stomped on his head with two feet.

As the young man's attackers began walking back towards the club, a car hit Mr Mason as he lay in the bicycle lane.

The 21-year-old was confirmed dead at John Hunter Hospital in the early hours of June 25, 2017.

Both Paterson and O'Brien have pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of the young man, who was celebrating landing a full-time job.

Paterson was on parole at the time for the grievous bodily harm of a motorist whose head he also stomped on. O'Brien was on parole for the commercial supply of drugs.

Outside court, Mr Mason's grandmother Debbie Mason said multiple lives had been changed because of his attackers' actions that night.

'If they hadn't have chased him he would still be here. Whether a car hit him or not … they chased him to his death more or less,' Ms Mason told 9News.

'They took Jayden away, they changed everyone's lives including their own parents -  their own parents must be devastated.'

O'Brien called the uncle of his victim to apologise a week after the incident, saying he had 'no intentions for this to happen'.

Paterson and O'Brien will be sentenced next Thursday.

Mr Mason's girlfriend, Amber Newton, described him in the wake of his death in 2017 as the 'love of her life'.

'I loved him with all my heart. He was absolutely everything to me. I'm so broken and devastated this has happened to him,' she told News Corp.
