TRICHY: All possible steps are being taken to contain the spread
coronavirus in India, said Union minister of state for health and family welfare
Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Thursday.
The minister was speaking to reporters at
Trichy airport. The minister was on his way to Namakkal for laying the foundation stone for a government medical college there.
The minister asked people not to believe in rumours about coronavirus in the country. He said there was no need to panic and appealed to people to remain vigilant.
“Our borders have been sealed, and people coming from countries which are severely affected by coronavirus are being strictly checked,” he said.
The minister said 26 coronavirus cases had been reported in the country thus far. People who tested positive for Covid-19 were quarantined and kept under observation, he said.
