FMCG stocks edge higher

FMCG stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index increasing 157.76 points or 1.44% at 11077.5 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Future Consumer Ltd (up 10%), Tata Coffee Ltd (up 3.29%),Hindustan Unilever Ltd (up 3.28%),GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd (up 3.05%),Godfrey Phillips India Ltd (up 2.99%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Britannia Industries Ltd (up 2.86%), Globus Spirits Ltd (up 2.46%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (up 2.15%), DFM Foods Ltd (up 1.71%), and L T Foods Ltd (up 1.51%).

On the other hand, Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (down 4.96%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd (down 3.05%), and Coastal Corporation Ltd (down 2.84%) turned lower.

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 100.59 or 0.26% at 38510.07.

The Nifty 50 index was up 36.65 points or 0.33% at 11287.65.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 0.48 points or 0% at 13552.91.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 8.94 points or 0.19% at 4703.83.

On BSE,848 shares were trading in green, 593 were trading in red and 68 were unchanged.
