PANAJI: Minister for science and technology
Michael Lobo on Wednesday said that Goa is seeing increased inflow of both domestic and international tourists since travel restrictions are in force for countries hit by Covid-19.
"We are doing much better than before only because Indians who cannot travel to China,
Thailand and other countries such as
Italy because of the travel restrictions due to coronavirus are coming to Goa," Lobo told reporters.
He also exuded confidence that the virus will not spread in a hot climate like that in Goa.
"We are safe, and nothing will stop tourists from coming to India. A lot of Indians, who otherwise would have travelled abroad, will now cancel their plans and visit Goa," Lobo said.
The government of India as well the state government are taking all precautions against the virus which has worried the entire world, he said.
