2021 Audi A3 Sedan Rendered As One Of Missing Links, Looks Pretty Sharp

Some call it the best-looking Audi A3 generation ever, while others have found it too convoluted for their liking and would preferred a more reserved styling. Like it or not, the new A3 is here to stay.

Presented online earlier this week, like a multitude of premieres from the cancelled 2020 Geneva Motor Show, the 2021 A3 Sportback has had its pixels rearranged by KleberSilva, who imagined it as the upcoming A3 Sedan.

Make no mistake, the four-door compact model from Ingolstadt is a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’. Its looks will mirror those of the hatchback, maybe not to the tiniest of details but it will be very similar. In this rendering, it retains the design cues of the A3 Sportback up to the B pillars, minus the roof rails, offering a reinterpretation of the back end, which sports identical taillights and bumper, while adding a more pronounced line from fender to fender, across the boot lid.

When it’s time for the unveiling, possibly towards the end of the year, the new A3 Sedan will get the engine lineup of its five-door sibling, which includes one petrol and two diesel units in Europe at launch, with outputs ranging from 116 PS (114 HP / 85 kW) to 150 PS (148 HP / 110 kW). The A3 family will be offered with front-wheel drive and six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic gearboxes at first, but more powertrains will be introduced, alongside the Quattro all-wheel drive system.

The new S3 will sit at the top of the range, with a 306 HP, 2.0-liter turbo-four, until the RS3 arrives, which is understood to feature an updated version of the 2.5-liter five-pot, making around 414 HP, and probably up to 444 HP in the Performance variant.
