The new Volkswagen Golf is probably one of the most anticipated cars of the year. The new Golf 8's GTI version will be the first model of the range to arrive here locally towards the end of 2020.

Volkswagen released an online commercial earlier in March (Tuesday, March 3) and viewers are loving it, but what's even more exciting is that the international commercial has been filmed on home ground, right here at Killarney Raceway - Cape Town's home of motorsport events.

The ad features an immaculate Mk1 GTi version going up against the latest offering. You can't help grin a stupid smile as you watch the ad, as both feelings of nostalgia and adrenaline fill your soul.

The mothership of VW knows how vital the Golf is in South Africa and to its people, so it's only fitting that the ad has been localised.
There has been loads of spy photos, limited information, and speculations on what we can expect on the newest generation for the quite some time now. So, to see the GTi in action at Killarney is hella exciting for not only any VW fan but for any petrolhead.
