FALL RIVER — Police Wednesday announced the arrests of two city men with ties to Louisiana on illegal gun charges.

Officers with Fall River police emergency services, vice and intelligence and gang units obtained a “no-knock” warrant to search 422-426 County St., Apt. 1 south/front, Detective John Robinson, a police department spokesman, said in a statement.

The target of the search warrant was 19-year-old Jurvonta Decuire, who court documents say was one of four males in the County Street apartment when the warrant was executed about 6:30 a.m.

After authorities entered the apartment, one of the men who ultimately was not criminally charged told officers that all four of them were from Louisiana and were in Fall River selling electricity service, a police report said.

Police searched the apartment and allegedly found a 9mm Taurus Armas semi-automatic firearm inside a duffel bag located in the bedroom of 21-year-old Caine Hamilton.

A second weapon, a .40-caliber Ruger handgun, was found under the mattress in Decuire’s bedroom, according to the police report. Both firearms were loaded with rounds in the chambers.

Police also seized a black iPhone from Decuire’s room. Neither Decuire nor Hamilton had valid licenses to carry, the report said.

Decuire's and Hamilton’s employer is listed in court documents as Platinum Prime, the company with a listed address of 45 North Main St.

The men were arrested Tuesday and arraigned the following day in District Court on charges of possessing large-capacity firearms and possessing ammunition without an FID (Firearms Identification) card, according to court documents.

Judge Kevin Finnerty ordered Decuire and Hamilton held without bail until dangerousness hearings next week.
