Health Minister on Covid-19 in RS: India initiated required preparedness much before WHO’s advice

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, while speaking in Rajya Sabha on Thursday said that India initiated required preparedness and action since 17th January, much before advice of the WHO. He further confirmed that there have been 29 positive cases of coronavirus in India so far. "I am daily reviewing the situation. A Group of Ministers is also monitoring the situation," he added. The Health Minister further informed the Parliament that the universal screening for all international passengers will be conducted. "The government is taking all necessary steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and we want everyone's cooperation," he added.
