Tangedco accessors post: Stalin wants recruitment exam to be conducted in Tamil too

M K Stalin
CHENNAI: DMK president M K Stalin on Thursday asked the Tamil Nadu government to conduct the online exam for recruiting Tangedco accessors in Tamil too.
In a statement, Stalin said many people from rural areas will apply for the post. "The job of an assessor is to go door-to-door and get the meter reading. Many people from rural areas who have registered with the employment exchange will take the exam, and it is better they write it in Tamil rather than in English," said Stalin.
Though the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board had said there would be reservation and only those who know Tamil would be allowed to take the exam, the board had also said the exam would be in English, said Stalin.
"The exam has negative marking. If any rural area student does not understand a question in English and gives a wrong answer, he or she will lose marks," said Stalin.
Stalin said he hoped that chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami would soon order power minister P Thangamani to introduce Tamil also in the online exam.
