FATEHGARH SAHIB: The police have got back the suspected patient of
coronavirus in the
isolation ward of
Fatehgarh Sahib district hospital after a civil surgeon wrote to the police on Wednesday night.
The suspected patient hails from
Bassi Pathana division of the district. The doctors said that the samples of the patient were collected and sent to Pune for tests but the reports were awaited.
The health authorities claimed that suspected patient is now being treated for typhoid and medicines were given to him. Besides, the health officials had issued guidelines to the family members and friends of the suspected patient that came into his contact recently. The officials claimed that the suspect had recently travelled to
New Zealand and then
Singapore while he got symptoms matching with coronavirus.
On Wednesday night, the patient after getting his samples managed to escape from the isolation ward. It is learned that the suspected patient left the ward after some unprofessional local media men reached on Wednesday evening near the isolation ward to take his video footage but the district health authorities refused them to get into the contact with the suspected patient. The health authorities also warned media over revealing any identification of the patient following which arguments between the health officials and reporters took place.
“The suspect has been brought back by the police after we requested them for the same. All the precautions are being taken and the suspect is under observation at isolation ward having all the facilities. The reports of his samples are awaited however he is being treated for typhoid”, said,
