THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress has lodged a complaint with speaker P Sreeramakrishnan against the remarks made by industry minister E P Jayarajan in the assembly on Tuesday.
Congress deputy leader in the house K C Joseph in his complaint said that the industry minister used "unparliamentary words" against Congress member Shafi Parambil. "While the chief minister was making a speech in the assembly, the industry minister made certain adverse remarks against the Congress member which is against the code of conduct that has to be followed by a member in the assembly," said Joseph.
He also condemned the behaviour of the speaker and said, "It was most unfortunate that the speaker did not make any comment on this or condemn the behaviour of the minister in the House." The remarks by E P Jayarajan was heard by all the members in the House through the microphone and it had even come in several of the online and social media. Hence, the speaker should make a ruling on this and appropriate action should be taken against the industry minister, he said in a letter given to the speaker.
