JAIPUR: Congress MLA from Sadulpur and Olympian Krishna Poonia raised the issue that renting out government-owned sporting facilities to private sports academies is depriving the poor sportspersons of the state.
During the assembly session on Tuesday, Poonia, a Padma Shree and Arjuna Award recipient said, “The private academies in stadiums like SMS charge fees which makes it impossible for children from poor background to avail facilities at the government-owned stadiums.”
