Aston Martin’s Limited V12 Speedster Wants To Blow You Away With Its 690 HP

Aston Martin is presenting the new V12 Speedster, a screen-less bespoke supercar designed to be an “uncompromising, visceral two-seater” for a few lucky customers.

The new Aston Martin V12 Speedster draws inspiration from the company’s rich racing history and will be produced by the company’s Q division in just 88 examples, each priced at £765,000 ($1 million).

Power comes from a twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 engine, which is tuned to produce 690 HP (700 PS) and 555 lb-ft (752 Nm) of torque. That’s enough firepower to send the new Aston Martin V12 Speedster from naught to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.5 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).

We’re guessing that you might want to use a proper helmet before going out and explore the new V12 Speedster’s potential. Underpinning the wild carbon-fiber bodywork is a bespoke aluminum platform that mixes parts from the DBS Superleggera and Vantage.

The new Aston Martin V12 Speedster rides on adaptive dampers with three drive modes while the centerlock wheels measure 21 inches in diameter. Carbon ceramic brakes are -as expected- standard fit.

The cockpit mixes carbon fiber with hand-finished saddle leather, chrome, aluminum and 3D-printed rubber while instead of a traditional glove box, Aston Martin uses a removable leather bag. Look behind the seats and you’ll find more storage space for your stuff but not a hint of a roof.

“For raw, driving thrills the V12 Speedster is unparalleled, the fully open element of the car adding a new dimension to the experience,” said Matt Becker, Aston Martin Chief Engineer. “It engages on every level, delivering a precise, involving driving experience, with agility and poise backed by abundant power from Aston Martin’s twin-turbo 5.2-litre V12. Driving doesn’t get any purer than this.”

The new Aston Martin V12 Speedster is the latest bespoke supercar that features no screen or roof, joining models like the Mclaren Elva and the Ferrari Monza.
