Kerala Water Authority adalat to begin on March 7

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In order to resolve various complaints of consumers and to increase revenue, Kerala Water Authority is conducting state-wide revenue adalat. Water resources minister K Krsihnankutty will inaugurate the adalat at 8am on Saturday at Jalabhavan office, Palakkad.
The adalats will be held in other districts in the coming days. Thiruvananthapuram (March 13), Kollam (March 7), Pathanamtitta (March 17), Alappuzha (March 11), Kottayam (March 18), Ernakulam (March 17), Idukki (March 19), Thrissur (March 13), Malappuram (March 9), Kozhikode (March 11), Wayanad (March 16), Kannur (March 17) and Kasargode (March 18).
Applications must be sent to KWA division offices.
The adalat will hear complaints related to fixing of water charge when meter was defunct or when water was not available, fine for pending arrears, issues in connection with billing of domestic and non-domestic connections, revenue recovery, unsettled complaints, court cases, discount on leak etc. Government offices too can submit petitions at the adalat.
