Pune: 7th edition of all women bike rally on Sunday

The bike rally will be organised in Pune and Chinchwad on March 8.
PUNE: The Maharashtra Times All Women Power Rally, a symbol of women's freedom and liberation, is now entering its seventh edition.
In the spirit of International Women's Day, the bike rally will be organised in Pune and Chinchwad on March 8. The rally is will be held across eight locations in the country. The event is open for any women who can ride a two-wheeler. The participants can also come with posters signifying the social cause they support.
The rally will start on Sunday at 7am from SP college on Tilak Road in Pune and from Elpro City Square Mall in Chinchwad. Participants from Pune can register by sending an SMS ‘POWERRALLYPUN’ to 58888. The interested parties from Chinchwad can SMS ‘POWERRALLYPC’ to 5888. Participants can also register by logging on to www.allwomenpowerrally.com.
Every year, thousands of women from all walks of life participate in the rally, asserting their independence and breaking traditional gender stereotypes. To add onto the fun element this year, a prize distribution ceremony will be held. The award will be given in the following categories — biggest group, best social message, best decorated bike, best decorated helmet, best traditional costume and best costume.
The event made its way to the “Limca Book of Records” in 2017.
That year, nearly 13,000 women from across the country participated in the rally.
