LUCKNOW: The UP BJP will organise functions at the booth level between March 19 and March 24 to mark completion of three years of Yogi Adityanath government in the state. The decision was taken at a high level meeting presided over by UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh and organisational secretary Sunil Bansal in the BJP headquarters on Wednesday.
The UP BJP brass move to unleash its foot soldiers to reach out to people comes in the backdrop of recent electoral debacle, including the one in Delhi assembly elections, even as the party gears up to take on the opposition in the run up to 2022 assembly elections. The UP BJP leadership also decided to hold meeting of district level working committee, an exercise essentially done to assess the ground level political situation. The meeting also saw leaders drawing out party strategy for Panchayat and cooperative society elections.
Singh said that the party has decided to reach out to people and apprise them about the achievement of the Yogi Adityanath government. The booth level campaign draws a close parallel with the gram swaraj abhiyan carried out by the party last year in which senior party leaders and minister were asked to camp in village and help people get the benefit of the government run schemes.
“The government has been driven by the promises BJP made in the `Sankalp Patra’ announced before 2017 assembly elections,” Singh said, adding that the state government was working for all section of society including youth, farmers and socio-economically downtrodden. Singh said that the state government has been working in the field of education, health, housing, women, youth and Dalit community. At the same time, the state government has ensured a robust law and order situation besides framing policies for the farmers.
“The investment scenario has improved in the last three years following which the employment opportunities have improved,” the UP BJP chief said. Singh also hit out at the opposition claiming that the alliance cobbled up by SP and BSP failed because of the popularity of the BJP which, he said, has been working as per the expectations of the people.
The BJP leadership also discussed the intricacies of party functionaries being given opportunity at the district level committees. UP BJP general secretary, Vidyasagar Sonkar said that party would contest the forthcoming Panchayat elections with full might.
