MUMBAI: Although deputy CM
Ajit Pawar expressed reservations about granting 100 units of free power to consumers, energy minister
Nitin Raut said the proposal was still under a committee's consideration, which would submit its report in three months.
Raut, a member of the Congress, said a new power policy would be declared within three months, which would consider proposals including 100 units of free power, reduction of power tariffs, and granting four hours of power to farmers daily. Raut was responding to questions in the state council on Tuesday.
He added that a solar energy policy was also being considered, under which solar agricultural pumps would be provided in phases over the next three years.
