IIM Indore sees 23% rise in domestic salary package in this year's placement

The domestic package rose from Rs 40.50 lakh per annum (LPA) to Rs 50 LPA as the largest outgoing batch of 578 students secured 100% placements.

INDORE: Indore Institute of Management (IIM), Indore registered a 23% rise in the highest domestic salary package offered to student during the placements of Post graduate Programme and 5-year Integrated Programme in Management.

The domestic package rose from Rs 40.50 lakh per annum (LPA) to Rs 50 LPA as the largest outgoing batch of 578 students secured 100% placements. “The average salary of the batch went up to Rs 22.92 LPA. The median salary for the batch stood at Rs 22 LPA,” an official release said.


Consulting, sales and marketing and finance were the most sought after domains among the many roles that were offered. The batch also saw candidates get two international offers this year, it said.

Increased hiring was witnessed from both marquee recruiters and a large number of new recruiters offering roles in the final placements, the release said adding more than 160 recruiters participated in placements 2019-20.


Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director IIM Indore, said, “We are delighted that once again the top companies of the country and the MNCs have reposed their faith in our students. The hard work put in by our students and the quality business education imparted by the Institute is reflected in these placement results.”


In the years to come, IIM, Indore will continue to strengthen engagement with the industry and create socially conscious responsible leaders that help to make this world a better place, he added.


The past year has been phenomenal for IIM Indore as the institute was ranked 5th in the NIRF rankings, and was recently awarded the prestigious EQUIS Accreditation. With the Triple Crown – AACSB, AMBA & EQUIS accreditations, IIM Indore has become the only B-school in India other than IIM Calcutta to achieve this feat.
