How this Delhi gangster was caught four years after escape

Most wanted criminal carrying Rs 6.5 lakh reward arrested in Gurugram
Delhi Police's special cell arrested him and three of his associates from Gurugram on early Tuesday
NEW DELHI: Bringing down the curtain on a four-year chase since the audacious escape of Delhi's most-wanted gangster, Jitender Maan alias Gogi, from custody, Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested him and three of his associates from Gurugram on early Tuesday.
As the cell tracked them down to a flat in Mapsko Casabella in Sector 82, Gogi, who is known for opening fire at cops on the slightest pretext, acted differently. He went live on Facebook and released a video saying he was surrendering, and then opened the door and walked towards the police cordon.

While Gogi (29) was at the top of the most-wanted list, two others - Kuldeep Fajja (28) and Rohit Moi (27) - also featured among Delhi Police's top 10 criminals. The fourth has been identified as Kaplil (27) from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. While Gogi is from Outer Delhi's Alipur, Fajja belongs to Naya Baans in the same area and Moi to Haryana's Sonipat.
The list of their prominent crimes include the murder of Haryana's folk singer, Harshita Dahiya, in Sonipat and a gang war in Burari in 2018. Just a fortnight ago, the gang shot at a rival over 50 times in Kanjhawala and hit him 24 times.
The counter-intelligence (CI) unit under inspector Vikram Dahiya was tracking the gang since last December. Gogi, a source said, was left without any major target after his arch rival, Amit Dabang, was nabbed in January-end. "Utilising all resources, suspect persons and locations were put under surveillance," said Manishi Chandra, DCP of the unit.
The gang used social media not only to communicate among themselves but also to extort people. Cops managed to identify some of these Facebook IDs, said a source. The Facebook surveillance yielded some crucial internet protocol addresses and eventually their physical locations.
Sources were deployed at Kherki Daula toll plaza after some movements were recorded on this route. Finally, the team was tipped off about the gang's presence in the Gurugram society. "As it was an upscale residential condominium, elite SWAT commandos, expert in urban building intervention, were called to assist the raiding party," Chandra said.
After the gang, occupying an apartment on the second floor of B4 block, were asked to surrender, there was no response from Gogi and his men for almost 20 minutes. However, a source claimed, they didn't find any escape route and surrendered.
Sx imported pistols of Zigana, Taurus and Star make, and over 70 live cartridges were found on them. A Hyundai i-20 car, lifted from Paschim Vihar, was also seized.
