Delay in getting extra answer sheets peeves ICSE class 10 students

BENGALURU: Some students taking the ICSE class 10 exam at Sherwood High School had a tough time on Tuesday as an invigilator allegedly delayed distributing extra answer sheets and graph papers in the exam hall. The incident occurred during the Maths paper on Tuesday. Some students said they had to wait for over 20 minutes before the additional sheets and graph papers were distributed.
"The invigilators were not ready with the papers. Even when they started distributing, they gave them to students of their own schools first. My son got the additional sheets just 10 minutes ahead of the last bell after asking for them at least five times. He had only half an hour left to write. He couldn't answer questions worth 20 marks," said an anxious parent.
"This is extremely disappointing for students who prepared for an entire year for the exams. The authorities should look at CCTV footage and take necessary steps to ensure students get justice so that they continue to be motivated for the rest of the exams," said a parent whose son couldn't attempt questions of six marks.
While the parents wrote to the principal seeking action, she replied stating, "We will report your concerns to the examination zone convener immediately. We are also hopeful that students will continue to be motivated in spite of the incident. We will certainly take as much care as possible of our kids as possible."
