The central government is ready to implement the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' scheme across the country. After the scheme is implemented across the country, any cardholder will be able to take his ration from any state's ration shop under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). That is, you can use a ration card in any state.
The Central Government intends to implement the scheme across the country from 1, 2020. The scheme was already implemented in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Gujarat in the year 2019, and now the scheme will be implemented across India.
The official said that the standard ration card has included the necessary details of the ration cardholder. States have been asked to issue standard ration cards in two languages. Apart from this, the ration card will be 10 digits, in which the initial 2 digits will be the state code.
Under this scheme, a citizen of any state will be able to buy essential things like wheat and rice at cheap prices in another state. Under this scheme, corruption will be curbed.
