KOTA: A 14-year-old tribal girl was gang-raped by two persons, including a minor, under the Jawar police station of Jhalawar district late Monday evening. Following a complaint by the rape survivor, police have arrested a 22-year-old youth, detained the minor, and booked the two accused under various sections of IPC, Pocso and SC/ST acts.
The accused youth was produced before the Pocso court on Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody. The Juvenile Justice Board ordered to minor to be send to a juvenile home, police said.
“The minor girl from the Bheel community lodged the complaint against the 22-year-old, identified as Pawan Lodha, and his friend, a 15-year-old boy, on Monday night,” Jawar police station SHO Bannalal said.
In her complaint, the survivor alleged that the minor boy from her village covered her mouth and took her to an abandoned anganwadi centre of the village around 8pm on Monday, where she was raped by Lodha.
Moving quickly, police arrested the accused youth and detained the minor. “The survivor was sent for medical examination on Tuesday. Further investigation is on into the matter,” he said.
