Coronavirus scare in Noida: One school shut, another to shut from tomorrow

NOIDA: A renowned school in Noida has been closed for three day amid coronavirus scare a day after a Class 6 student’s father was detected with the infection. Another school has decided to shut from Wednesday till March 11 to take the precautionary steps.
Health department officials have visited both the schools and collected samples of two school kids.
The team was led by the chief medical officer who has started sanitisation exercise on the premises of one of the schools. The family of the child has been quarantined.
“We have quarantined the family for now and the chief medical officer has reached the location and advised the school to shut down and ordered a deep fumigation. There is nothing to worry,” district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, BN Singh, told TOI.
The family has two children attending the same school and had thrown a birthday bash for one of their children in a Delhi hotel where three children from the same school attended with their families. All these children go to the same school which has been shut down. One of the two families which attended the party stay in a Sector 93 A gated society, another in an independent house in Sector 37.
The school that is located in Sector 135 of Noida was closed for the next three days for fumigation due to the concerns over the infection. The other school is located in Noida's Sector 168.
The first case of coronavirus was detected in Delhi on March 2. The person from Delhi had travelled to Italy. He is being diagnosed at RML hospital.
Meanwhile, some family members of the Delhi-based man, who has tested positive for the coronavirus, have been shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for tests after they showed symptoms of the virus, health ministry sources said.
Some other relatives were asked to stay quarantined at their houses only, the sources added.
One of the accountants working for the man, who lives in Mayur Vihar, and some of his relatives have also been shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for tests, they said.
