LUCKNOW: A 14-year-old mentally challenged was allegedly sexually assaulted by a youth in
Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) on Sunday.
According to police, the girl had gone to a
wedding in a BKT village with her 13-year-old sister. There she met a youth whom she had met at another wedding last week.
The youth approached the girls and started a conversation with them. He offered to take them to a popular chaat shop nearby on his bike. He allegedly took the girls to an isolated area behind a government school in
Itaunja and raped the 14-year-old girl while her cousin sister stood nearby. Thereafter the accused fled.
Since the girls had no mobile phone they walked to a nearby general store and called up their parents. The survivor’s father reached the spot and took her to the BKT police station to lodge an FIR.
Station house officer, BKT,
Brijesh Singh said they have verified the girls’ claims from the owners of the chaat shop and general store. “The girls do not know the name of the accused, so we are scanning the photographs and videos at the wedding to identify the accused.”
