PUNE: Gyan-Key Foundation, along with Sanskriti Foundation, has begun installing Gyan-Key libraries at 118 Marathi medium schools run by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Each library has 148 Marathi books of various genres that would interest students. These have been installed at 50 schools. The rest of the schools will be covered within the next week.

“While selecting the schools, we have mostly considered the Marathi medium schools. We have presented a collection of Marathi books to these schools,” said Pradip Lokhande of Gyan-Key.

The 148 books provided to each school range from story books to biographies and autobiographies.

“We have tried to include almost all kinds of books that would be read in a Marathi household,” Lokhande said.

PMC Education Officer (Secondary) Deepak Mali said, “Of the schools, 100 are primary schools, and the rest secondary. We already have libraries at our schools, so these kits of 148 books each given to the schools are a valuable addition to our libraries.”
