Here is the chance to handle the social media accounts of one of the most followed political leaders in the world.

Ahead of International Women’s day, celebrated on March 8, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving up his social media accounts for a day to the women who have inspired the nation with their contributory work. “This will help them ignite motivation in millions,” Modi said in a tweet.

The stories or videos can be shared across social media platforms — Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Modi, in his tweet, urged women to share their inspirational stories with a hashtag #SheInspiresUs.

This came after he announced that he was thinking of “giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube.” The tweet went viral minutes after it was posted last night and garnered over 1.4 lakh views and thousands of retweets.

With that, #NoModiNoTwitter was the top twitter trend in India, where users said that they will also quit social media if PM Modi quits. Modi has 53.3 million followers on Twitter and 35.2 million on Instagram.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also suggested Modi to give up “hate speech” rather than social media.
