Really? This 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Has An $80,000 Markup!

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is hot property right now and Californian dealership Fritts Ford has one up for sale with a whopping $80,000 markup.

As noted by Motor1, YouTuber Speed Phenom recently paid a visit to this dealer in Riverside, California and was left shocked at the $185,890 asking price. To put that into perspective, the car, optioned out with the available Carbon Fiber track Package, has an MSRP of $105,890.

It’s worth pointing out that this particular Shelby GT500 might just be one of the meanest we’ve seen, thanks to the black paint scheme that’s contrasted by dark blue racing stripes painted on for a cool $10,000.

Components included in the Carbon Fiber Track Package are a set of 20-inch carbon fiber wheels from Carbon Revolution wrapped in Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 2 tires measuring 305/30 front and 315/30 at the rear. The $18,500 package also includes new front splitter wickers and the same carbon fiber rear wing as the Mustang GT4 race car. Changes are also made in the cabin and include numerous carbon accents, a set of Recaro bucket seats, and wheel locks.

Prices for the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 start at $73,995 with the Carbon Fiber Track Package bumping that up to a minimum of $92,495.

Is the GT500 worth $185,890 when marked up like this example? Well, the YouTuber briefly says that a Rapid Red GT500 with the same options as this car was recently sold for $185,890 by another dealer so it’s clear people are willing to spend a lot of money on the ultimate Ford Mustang. That doesn’t mean it’s actually worth it, though…
