Challenge yourself this Lent to make a difference in not only your own spiritual life but in giving your time and talents to others who are in need.

Lent is upon us.

All around us are the many great people we have in our lives. They help us get through the tough days. These are family and friends, who can help us get through the tough days. We can count on them to help us through the all so wonderful moments life has to offer. They usually want nothing in return because they value who you are: your family, your principles, your faith and your life in general.

Sadly, there are those who constantly tempt us to do wrong. They may have been good friends at one time, but they still surround us. They may check in with us from time to time, but because they know we may have weaknesses.

When the smiling devil comes knocking at your door, calls you, sends you a message or emails you, it's important to be strong, faith-filled and focus on the love around you. Focus on your family, your children and what you've worked all your life to accomplish. You should honor your own character and shoo away those people who tempt you. All the angels and saints, deceased loved ones, our blessed mother, especially God the Father and His Son, our Brother and Savior, are always with you, even when we are tempted. Ignore and boldly say goodbye to the devil.

You can also help others by standing tall next to them with warmth, care, faith and love.

The season of Lent is upon us. Challenge yourself this Lent to make a difference in not only your own spiritual life but in giving your time and talents to others who are in need.

Catholics will be asked, "What are you giving up for Lent this year?" The physical cravings or looking for something to give up for Lent is just a tiny thing to do for God. We need to get back to praying, fasting and deepen our prayer life, especially during Lent. It deepens our prayer life and unites us to Jesus Christ's suffering on the cross.
