NEW DELHI: Shares of infrastructure companies were in the green in Tuesday's afternoon trade.

Shares of Engineers India (up 4.3 per cent), NCC (up 3.23 per cent), NHPC (up 3.08 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 2.88 per cent) and Interglobe Aviation (up 2.5 per cent) were among the top gainers.

NTPC (up 2.45 per cent), Torrent Power (up 2.44 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India (up 2.37 per cent) and Adani Power (up 2.34 per cent) too were trading with gains.

While Suzlon Energy (down 5.26 per cent), CG Power & Industrial Solutions (down 4.41 per cent) and Reliance Power (down 2.94 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Infrastructure index was trading 1.25 per cent up at 3,009.65 around 12:37 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 81.10 points at 11,213.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 193.73 points at 38,337.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, Indiabulls Housing, Vedanta , Ashok Leyland, SAIL, GMR Infra and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
