NOIDA: As many as 20 infrastructure projects worth over Rs 2,800 crore were dedicated to the city on Monday. Chief minister
Yogi Adityanath inaugurated 10 projects worth Rs 1,452 crore from Botanical Garden metro station complex. He also laid the foundation stones for the remaining 10 projects worth Rs 1,369 crore.
The projects that were inaugurated include multi-level parking at the Botanical Garden metro station and Sector 5, government district hospital, foot over-bridges in sectors 145, 62, 63, 71 and 72, two power sub-stations and four pink toilets. While pink toilets are already operational in the city, the remaining are in the final stages of completion.
Adityanath also boasted about the opportunities Jewar airport operations were likely to bring in for the local residents. “India’s first MRO (aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul) would come up in Jewar. I want to appeal to local people whose land was acquired to use the money they got prudently and not waste it,” he said.
The other projects that were unveiled before the public include the Convention and Habitat Centre in Sector 94, Parthala Chowk flyover, intelligent traffic management system, sewage treatment plants in sectors 168 and 123, golf course in Sector 151A, two underpasses at Noida–Greater Noida Expressway, LED streetlights and start-up hub at the Botanical Garden metro station.
“A policy for youths will be launched which would be particularly helpful for unemployed students from industrial townships such as Noida and Greater Noida. Called Chief Minister Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, Rs 2,500 would be given every month to youths who register and pursue industrial trainings,” the CM said.
Meanwhile, the Greater Noida Authority will spend Rs 93 crore on the upkeep of roads across multiple places in the city. Holding a meeting, the officials set aside the amount to start work on five stretches and initiated the tendering process on Monday.
The stretches that would be upgraded include roads in Ecotech 12, the road between Ek Murti roundabout and Railway Crossing, the road between Gaur City roundabout and Tigri village, the road in Sector 16 C, the road in Sector 16 and a cycle track in Sector 16.
