THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Human Rights Commission has directed
Thiruvananthapuram Corporation to ensure prevention of dumping of waste on TRIDA land near
Palayam market.
The order was issued based on a complaint filed by Fathima, a local resident. The commission also received a report from corporation secretary. The report says that anti-social fling trash bags on the land owned by TRIDA. This has been brought to the notice of TRIDA and shed nets were installed on four sides of the land, the report said.
The corporation undertakes mosquito eradication activities in the area. Authorised agency of city corporation collects poultry waste from the market.

Antony Dominic said that the report establishes the fact that there were garbage heaps on the TRIDA land.
